Where do I start?

I grew up with a severley addicted father to computer gaming , 18 hours plus a day. I realize it is a lot of work and just attended my first al anon meeting. I'm very overwhelmed as some people said they where members for years and years. I'm scared of the old wounds this is going to open up and feel very lonley. I don't even want to open the information package because I'm by myself and no one to talk to, let alone anyone that gets it. I don't know if that's enough I formation or not but thanks for reading. My name is Jesse by the way I just made it appius because that's what I stick to for all online forums.

Thank you

Hi Appius  You have posted to a Chat room Board which is not too active  Our main alanon Board can be accessed at this web address  http://alanon.activeboard.com/

Alanon  is indeed  a powerful program for members who live with or have lived with the  disease of alcoholism  Recovery is  a process so I suggest you keep coming back to  face to face meetings and here, read the literature  use a few slogans get a sponsor and work the  steps.  You will be glad you did.

As for the meetngs having many "old timers" I believe that this is a great sign that the program has something io offer.  They simply keep coming back as programs suggests.  Hope you keep coming back
