The Colors of the Rainbow
In a western window I have a crystal that catches the afternoon sun and breaks it into bits of rainbows that scatter across the room. When I stand off and look at these bright bits from a distance, they look like pleasant but uninteresting spots of white light tinged with an orange edge- but as I move closer they change dramatically. Their spectrum breaks distinctly into a vibrant swatch of colors of the rainbow. The bands stand out so clearly they seem to hover above the wall like butterflies of light.
I take the experience of approaching these sports of rainbow as a suggestion of the powerful change in perception that I notice when I feel myself drawn closer to the light refracted through my life from a Higher Power. Bright but uninteresting spots become transformed into butterflies of light. ~ United States
