SATURDAY EVENING BEGINNER'S MEETING TOPICS ARE: GUIDELINES FOR THE FAMILY, GUILT, AND LET GO AND LET GOD
Permalink

Meeting scheduled in the Al-Anon chat room. Topics are: "Guidelines for the Family", "Guilt" and "Let Go and Let God".

The website link to the group meeting room is http://www.12stepforums.net/chatroom2.html. There are other ways to join the room also. Using mIRC or other chat client, the server we are on is irc.chat4all.org, port 6667 which users will need to add to their IRC server list, and our room name (#alanonchat) to their IRC channels.

Guidelines for the Family

  1. Attend Al-Anon regularly, in addition to professional services. If Al-Anon is not available, attend open meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous.
  2. Suggest Alateen for younger members of the family and Al-Anon for adult members.
  3. Secure additional literature on alcoholism for your own study.
  4. Seek out all professional alcoholism services in your community. Use whatever is available for the family, and know what is available for the alcoholic.
  5. Remember that family members can either start the recovery process--or help to keep the illness going. They can work toward recovery by changing to more constructive roles in the drama of alcoholism.
