Using mIRC or other chat client, the server we are on is irc.chat4all.org, port 6667 which users will need to add to their IRC server list, and our room name (#alanonchat) to their IRC channels.

Today's Topic: "Tricked into Letting Go"

i.e. Let Go and Let God, When I got busy I got better.

My Higher Power seems to have a sense of humor. Recently I found myself fretting over a family matter about which I was definitely preoccupied, if not positively obsessed, when the phone rang. It was a friend relaying a request to bring an odd party favor to a party in a few days. In a flash, I snapped out of my obsession with my family problem- a situation I seemed determined to worry about for the rest of the evening at least- and focused all my energy on this odd request. What did it mean? What other tricks might the hostess have up her sleeve? My critical response flowed on and on in a brilliant and energetic outburst of overreaction until I realized with a start that I had completely forgotten my first problem.  My Higher Power had tricked me into letting go. While I felt a little foolish, I was happy, relieved, and grateful.
